Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) recently held the district Board of Directors election for District 8 (south central and western parts of Sequatchie County). Daniel Davenport, the incumbent, won the election with a total of 437 votes to Jeff Land’s 369 votes. Mr. Davenport has represented Sequatchie County SVEC members on the board since 2002.
The district 5 and 6 board seats in Grundy County were also up for re-election, however the incumbent board members, Judy Fults and Michael Jordan, were unopposed.
“Over 30% of the eligible member-consumers voted in this election by mail ballots”, stated SVEC President/CEO Bob Matheny. “This is the highest percentage to ever participate in a SVEC director election – thanks for your participation.”
