Take Control of Your Home’s Energy Use

Record high energy costs have families across the country reeling at the site of their bills this winter. Many people feel helpless at this blow to their budgets. However there is something that you can do to get your energy budget back in line. The first step is to find out where your energy dollars are going and take measures to get things back in line.

In order to do that you must take a close look at your home’s energy efficiency and your family’s energy use habits. One easy way to assess these two areas is with Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative and TVA’s FREE home energy survey – the Home e-Valuation. This program is a part of the energy right program sponsored by TVA and SVEC.

To participate in the program call or stop by your local SVEC office to have a survey mailed to you. When you receive the survey take a few minutes to complete the questions about your home and your family’s energy use habits and drop the postage-paid, self-addressed survey in the mail. The information will be analyzed and a confidential report based on your answers will be sent back to you. The report will show you where your energy dollars are going – heating, cooling, water heating, lighting, etc.  and will give you a number of no cost, low cost and other suggestions for saving energy and money.

If you like the immediate results of the internet, you may complete the survey on line. Click here, then on “Profile.” Once you have completed the survey and entered your information, you will receive your report on line.

So what are you waiting for? Get the survey, review the recommendations and take back control of your energy budget!  Back
