Apply for Service - Residential
Opening Your Account
Opening your electric account at an existing location is simple and hassle free. You can come in to any one of our five district offices or if you are unable to come to an office in person, we will be happy to accomodate you over the telephone, by fax or even by e-mail. If you have questions about starting a new account or need more information on transferring or disconnecting a service, please e-mail Beth Duggar and fax all new applications to 423-837-9836, attention Beth Duggar.
All new members will need to provide:
- Driver's License or a picture ID
- Social Security Card
- 911 Address of the property
You may be asked to provide a meter number at the location where you are moving or the names or addresses of your nearest neighbor.
Download, print and return this application for residential service to your local SVEC office, or you may fax to your local office.
If you need service to a location that has never had electricity before, please go to Engineering Services under the Products and Services menu.
Deposit
Deposits are determined by credit rating. Amounts vary from $0 - $400, or twice the average bill at the location, or which ever is higher.
A co-signer or guarantor can sign for new members to avoid paying a deposit. Guarantors must have an active account for at least 13 months and no late payments. The agreement will be in effect for one year or longer. Please call your local office if you have any questions about guarantors.
