New Home Rebate

Building a New Home? Make it Energy Efficient and All-Electric and Receive a Rebate!

New homes that are all-electric* and are built according to the qualifying standards will receive a free home inspection to ensure that your home's construction meets the energy right standards. You will also receive a $100 credit on your electric bill.

*Duel fuel heat pumps and gas logs are acceptable.

An Energy Services Technician will determine a home's energy efficiency rating using the Home Energy Rating System Software. Ratings are based on the energy efficiency of the heat pump, insulation, windows, doors, etc.

The energy right new Homes Program allows homeowners and builders to use their choice of heating and air contractors, however heat pumps must meet TVA standards for the home to qualify.

To be eligible for the $100 rebate, the home owner or builder must complete and submit a "Request for Inspection" form for the energy right New Home Program after your home has passed the final electrical inspection. You may obtain this form at your local SVEC office or download it here.
