Recycle your Christmas tree with SVEC
For many families, it just isn't Christmas without a "real" tree. But what do you do with a fresh-cut tree when the holidays are over?
Many go to the landfill, taking up valuable space when they could have been chipped up and turned into mulch, returning valuable nutrient matter to the soil.
This year, Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative will be making it easier for you to recycle your "real" Christmas tree by providing a drop-off spot at each of our offices listed below.
Anyone who would like whole trees for use as fish habitat in lakes or ponds can contact his or her local SVEC office and let organizers know how many discarded trees to save for pick-up.
SVEC will be accepting trees for chipping on weekdays from December 27 - January 5.
- Please have all decorations removed from trees
- No artificial trees will be accepted
Please drop off trees during business hours - Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All offices will be closed Monday, January 1.
